Shared Worlds is located on the Wofford College campus in Spartanburg, SC.
Driving directions are available
here.
Students traveling by air should arrive at the Greenville/Spartanburg airport
(GSP). The Shared Worlds program will offer a shuttle service for $25 each
way. Please complete the Shuttle Request Form for any student needing
transportation between GSP and Wofford College.
Charlotte International Airport (CLT) is approximately 1.5 hours from Wofford.
While there is no shuttle available between Wofford and CLT, parents traveling
with their children via CLT may choose to rent a vehicle or hire a limo service to drive a student to the Wofford campus.
Housing and Security
Students will stay in supervised college dorms during the program
Wofford College is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors. Throughout the summer, security personnel will continue preventive patrols, 24-hour accessibility, and crime prevention measures. Health Services staff will also be available to assist in medical emergencies and other emergency situations.

10/15/2009 -- Although the full 2011 roster will be announced later, Shared Worlds is proud to note that Philip K. Dick Award finalist Minister Faust and Nnedi Okorafor, winner of the Wole Soyinka Prize for Literature for her novel Zahrah the Windseeker, have both accepted invitations to attend as visiting writers.
10/14/2009 -- Shared Worlds is proud to announce that instructors for 2010 will include Spiderwick Chronicles creator Holly Black, critically acclaimed YA and adult authors Kathe Koja and Marly Youmans, Nebula Award winner Michael Bishop, writer and gaming expert Will Hindmarch, and World Fantasy Award winner Jeff VanderMeer, plus Wofford College's own Dr. Christine Dinkins, philosophy professor, and Jeremy Jones, lecturer and camp director. Artist Scott Eagle will also conduct a workshop during the camp.
